CRAIG BROWN C.B.E.

 

CRAIG WAS A PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALLER FOR RANGERS, FALKIRK, AND DUNDEE, WITH WHOM HE WON A LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP MEDAL.  HE WAS ALSO A HEAD TEACHER, HAVING GAINED A BACHELOR OF ARTS DEGREE.

HE RETIRED FROM FOOTBALL IN 1971 AFTER FIVE OPERATIONS ON HIS KNEE


SCOTLAND’S LONGEST SERVING MANAGER, HE TOOK THEM TO THE EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS AND WORLD CUP, HAVING PREVIOUSLY STEERED SCOTLAND U-16’s TO THE FINAL OF THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS, LOSING TO AN “U-16” SAUDI ARABIA SIDE FEATURING PLAYERS WITH FULL BEARDS...


HE HAS ALSO MANAGED CLYDE, MOTHERWELL, PRESTON NORTH END, AND IN 1999 WAS AWARDED THE C.B.E. IN HER MAJESTY THE QUEEN’S BIRTHDAY HONOURS.  HE IS CURRENTLY THE MANAGER OF ABERDEEN F.C.
